INSTIGATOR
The key to experience the best action out of these baits is to work them slow. The proper rod, reel, line and leader all play a part in the successful use of a jerk/glide bait. The recommended rod that should be used for these products would be a 6’ - 6’10” heavy action jerkbait rod. The size of the rod will depend on your height and how high you stand in your boat. As for a reel, any quality made Musky reel on the market today will do the job. For line, you will want to use braided line, ranging anywhere from 36 lb. test and up. As for a leader, always make sure that the leader is longer than the bait that you are using. We would recommend a single strand leader that is 12” long and about 105 lb. test in strength.
